Good Points

Brakes, low center of gravity, long wheelbase, heavy but maneuverable ride, plenty of engine despite the weight.

Bad Points

OEM saddle (jettisoned it for a Mustang: good option!). Some vibration and engine noise, but not excessive.

General Comments

What a solid riding bike! I bought my Honda vtx1300r one month ago and have racked up over a thousand miles, including a nearly two hundred mile ride to the Oregon Coast yesterday. The bike's low center of gravity, stretched wheelbase and thoughtful geometry fit me perfectly, and makes maneuvering twisty roads a biker's luxury. With ample torque for a shaft drive, it answers the throttle with immediacy and reward, traits that contribute to dynamic safety (viz. the ability to maneuver out of harm's way). The massive front disc brake in concert with the single piston rear brakebrings the bike to a smooth, rapid, controlled stop. And I've had reason to test them! Safety and comfort in a stylish package: That's what I wanted and that's what Honda delivered in the vtx1300r. Well done!
