Good Points

Competent and fast support.
Fast hosting.
Cost based on bandwidth and not things like number of databases, ftp accounts, e-mail... .


Bad Points

None so far.


General Comments

I had been thinking of my own webspace for a while(only used space that was given to me so far) and most recommendations that seemed sensible to me, suggested 5quid host. I registered a domain which came with free hosting (big ad banner on top of page) with another provider.

After learning the basics of Joomla, I decided to sign up for a hosting account. The site where I registered my domain, did not really have a hosting plan that seemed interesting to me... and I really liked the principle of paying for the bandwidth/space that you use and not some other stuff which doesn't really make a difference to the host. Plus I had read that it's better to have domain and hosting on different places to avoid problem when wanting to change either just the domain or hosting provider.

All my questions before signing up were answered with impressive response time and in a clear manner.

I uploaded my site to the new space at 5quid host and updated my nameserver settings. After the settings became effective, the first thing I noticed was the speed with which it loaded. There really was a noticeable difference. With my domain it host, you could see the page loading, on 5quid host, it just went "Plop! There you go."
