Good Points

LV's European insurance covers stays of up to 180 consecutive days, twice as long as some others, yet only costs £19pa app, for a new car.

Did not need to have membership of CSMA to be eligible for LV insurance. Wonder why that is; hope it means online policies are exempt.


Bad Points

tricky website........ timed out twice though the fault may have been due to purchasing via a cashback website.


General Comments

Been with Liverpool Victoria (LV) for some years now and decided to get an online quote. I could not get a like for like policy as there is no facility to input 'any driver over 25 yrs' so I had to settle for the maximum 4 named drivers. Although no one but myself has driven my car in the past 2 yrs, I much prefer to pay a little extra to cover anyone in the family. Insurance firms need to look at this problem.

I found that all 60 firms covered by moneysupermarket.com offered very basic policies, with no means, that I could see, to add options. I was annoyed to find I had given all 60 firms my personal details before knowing the terms of any of their policies. I definitely will never use a comparison site again, for that very reason.
