General Comments

Bought a 42inch LG TV in Comet before Christmas 2008, early this year it started hissing, eventually after making sure it was Tv and not sky box, dvd etc, phoned customer services.
Engineer called, tried every bit of softwear then decided it needed a new screen! Told us the part would be ordered then he would call back.
Comet then told us it would be taken to the workshop and some one would arrange a suitable date to collect, the engineer said we would get a replacement from Comet, this is not true. A guy called last week and said he would be with us to collect TV in 30minutes, this was the first we knew about the date of collection, we said dont bother and called to make alternative date for collection once they knew they had the part in workshop.
Anyway they are calling 9/6, not even an am or pm call, all day, no Tv loan, part not ordered and WILL NOT order before collection, do not even know if part in stock,. After pleading with them to order the part first and give us a rough idea how long it would be away, still NO WAY will they order or even find out if part in scock with LG! Would like to force the issue but as time goes on years warranty gets less, I feel the whole TV should be replaced however I would prefer to get a repair done at home, the engineer who came did say this could be done, they DO also advertise TV repair service at home!!!!. In the meantime no-one will give us any idea if the TV will be away 2, 3,4 weeks or more, I will NEVER EVER buy from Comet again, their aftersales and repair service is the Worst I have ever experienced, I am disgusted with their level of service.

    Exactly say thing has happened to us we have had two LCD screens replaced. It then went into service centre for a month for us to be told there was nothing wrong with it. When it was delivered back to us even their delivery driver could see the problem, We then got a Philips authorised agent to come and look at it, he took one look and told us it was the LCD screen needed a new one. We then contacted Comet again sending a copy of the Philips report, the TV went back into their service centre , despite them being told we were unavailable they twice phoned to say it was ready to be returned, when I contacted them on return suddenly a fault had been found they have now had it at their service centre another month and finally written it off although Philips told us 2 months ago the part is no longer available. They are refusing to refund the cost of the Philips enginner coming out to us because they say that was our choice and we did not give them a fair chance to sort the problem out!!!!! unlike the other lady we did get a replacement TV because I kicked up a stink, but it has cost us many telephone calls, lack of sky HD and the call out. Lets see how long the replacement which unfortunately we have to get from them will take to get to us! 5 months so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
