I love 60 minute make over and presenter is perfect as the host, easy to watch and listen to without being too shmaltsy, and has some intelligent comments to make, BUT, recently the decor has been generally AWFUL, quite sickening, and I wonder what are those designers thinking, if that was done to my house I would be FUMING, and I wonder just how honest the homeowners are with their big smiles and praise, and have they been told that part of the deal is to pretend they like it, and will they immediately tear the horrendous wallpaper off and paint those extremely horrendous black and dark blue(YUK!!!) walls, does anyone know if anyone has done this and how much of the show is edited. In many ways I feel very sorry for some of the older homeowners, who maybe haven't got the time or energy to repaint everything, and are forced to live in that awful confusion of colours. Is it maybe that these designers TRY TOO HARD to be different and WANT TO BE NOTICED, and are not considering the feelings of the hmowners, and want to experiment all their WACKY IDEAS. The Programme Directors need to get a grip and take a look at other Home Programmes, and see that MOST people want neutral bright colours, practical carpets (white & light colours are not), soft warm wood furniture (not space age metal), and there is a general rule not to put dark furniture or dark colours in a small room, I feel very sorry for the kids having to sit/sleep in a dark dreary room. I could go on and on but will finish with my final comment that would any of these designers put their wacky mentally derranged ideas into RICH HOMES, like Chelsea, Hampstead, Harrow, I wonder, somehow I dont think they would dare, I rest my case.
