Mattress is fine, even if it was expensive


General Comments

When the delivery of the mattress we bought from Bensons for Beds took place, the delivery men were rather rude and careless. After having scratched a wall and not even apologising for it, they concluded that they wouldn ' t be able to take the mattress to the bedroom due to the size of the staircase " which is a perfectly normal staircase, by the way. They left in a rush and took the mattress with them, without even trying to think of any alternative or giving us the chance to speak to their boss. When we called to their customer service and suggested that the mattress be taken through the garage to the garden and then lifted to the bedroom ' s balcony, we were told that the delivery men refused to do that due to the lack of a ' risk assessment '. We could either do that ourselves, or simply choose a smaller mattress. A reimbursement was out of the question and there was absolutely no cooperation in trying to find a compromise. We finally accepted to have the mattress delivered to our garage and somehow get it to the bedroom in the second floor ourselves. When the mattress arrived, we had it a go at carrying it ourselves through the staircase and we managed! How do two laypeople manage to carry a big, heavy mattress to a second floor and two professional delivery men don ' t?! This was the worst and most inconsiderate delivery service we had throughout the whole process of moving to our new house, as well as the most unhelpful customer service we ' ve ever experienced. We don ' t wish this experience to anyone else looking into buying a new mattress. The mattress is fine but the delivery service was the most horrible experience...
