Good Points

Too many to list;
Indestructable metal case with good grip and excellent controls
Very detailed, high quality images
Configurable Auto-ISO
Wide, bright viewfinder
Excellent metering and white balance
High frame rate; up to 5fps in full size, 8fps in crop mode
Stored settings for different uses, recent-changes menu
Excellent battery life

Bad Points

Large and heavy - this is no compact!
No scene settings - not a camera for a novice
Expensive to buy - but worth every single penny

General Comments

The Nikon D2X is is in every sense a professional camera. It is by no means small or light, but its bulk is justified by its rugged build quality.
It is very difficult to express my satisfaction with this camera in a few words; it has an excellent image quality with frames that can be deeply cropped without losing detail; an ergonomic design that places controls where you expect to find them; hugely detailed menus with all the options you could possibly need. Long battery life - a boon after the D1X, and a fantastic frame rate of 8fps in high-speed crop mode.
This is a fantastic camera.
