in-communicative ground staff, bordering on breaking most passenger management rules

Rude, in-considerate air staff

Horrible planes, especially Boeing series (are 737-800s actually certified and safe for 6.5 hours non-stop services)

Pathetic in flight entertainment, meal options, and general ambience on the aircraft


General Comments

While departing from Mumbai on May 29 at the un-earthly hour of 0450hrs, Turkish Airlines re-scheduled by over an hour without any reasons. And then on our return from Istanbul to Mumbai, flight was delayed by over 3 hours! No reason or explanation was given at all. Over 150 passengers were waiting for over 3 hours with no explanations, announcements, etc and it took about 20 passengers surrounding the senior ground staff person to eke out of him that someone in operations has changed the plane from an airbus 330-200 to a boeing 737-800. So no formal announcement, no right to info about the plane change, 3 hour delay in the night (1900-2200hrs) w/o any water/ access to wash rooms/ etc and to top it all the worse possible plane with horrible & cramped interiors (2 out of the 4 toilets were not working, dirty seats, etc). Also, I checked the ratings of the aircraft and they were for 165 passengers for a max 6 hours flight and this one was for 6.5 hours! I think Turk Air threw caution to the wind in making this flight happen on the 737-800. We finally landed at 0600hours in Mumbai, 2.5 hours behind the scheduled time of arrival.

Oh and the service was like Darth Vader had somehow managed to take over the service for the night! The air hostesses were rude and dis-respectful of the economy passengers and looked down upon any request as if they were god almighty serving lesser mortals from hell. I have never felt more insulted in my entire 15 years flying experience. If they have such a superior attitude - maybe they should stick to flying only within Turkey and not function within this globalized world.

This experience very clearly re-emphasized to stick to the A class airlines like Singapore Air, Emirates, Jet Airways, & Virgin - if you value your time, money, and most importantly your and your families personal safety.
