Cruised with Royal caribbean, May 2009 on the Independence of the seas. We unfortunately will not be cruising again with them.
With have cruised before but with different companies. On the whole the staff as you would expect was fantastic, and food was excellent in the main dining room, with some decent entertainment. Cabin small compared with other cruise ships we have been on with no sunbeds for your balcony just 2 very uncomfortable chairs. All drinks ridiculously over priced!! including bottled water $5.00. No 24hour buffet. Some port visits not full days departing at 2pm. When we disembarked at the end of our cruise in Southampton we were astonished at the lack of organisation it was a free for all, including a lost case which RCI couldn't have cared less about. Once off the ship at the port you were on your own!

I too was on the same cruise and fully agree with the previous review. We were also charged for shuttles from the harbour to the centre where appropriate. I would re-name the Royal Caribbean to The Pirates of the Caribbean, I won't ever be cruising with them again

I think you'll find that it is the Ports that charge for the shuttle buses and not RCI, they just take the money off you to pay them. When you stay in a hotel do they pay for your travel?? - NO!!

No 24 hour buffet??? Did you not find Caf Promenade or Caf Latt ?
I agree the drinks are overpriced...particularly the bottled water but I couldn't agree with anything else you say and I have been on Independence 4 times now.
