I bought a round trip ticket through Orbitz on Aer Lingus from Phoenix to Shannon, Ireland. American code-shares and has the domestic parts of the flight through Boston outbound and Chicago returning. Well, I got notice from Orbitz that the schedules changed on the American flights and I was concerned with the time between flights being shortened. I called Orbitz and they told me of the fees involved to make a change with them, but said because it was a schedule change I should call the airlines directly and they would take care of it. I called American but they said since this was bought from Aer Lingus I had to call them. No big deal so far. I called the Aer Lingus line and waited on hold for 30 minutes three times before I got through to someone. They told me that since I bought through Orbitz, I had to change through there...hundreds of dollars of change fees. I then called American back, explained my experience with Aer Lingus and American broke a protocol or two but rearranged my flights to my satisfcation with no fees. I love American Airlines.
