We arrived at the Explorers hotel with mixed expectations, from reading previous reviews we did not know what to expect. First impressions were excellent, the reception and public areas were all spotlessly clean, this continued into our rooms. The service from all staff was perfect: polite, courteous and helpful. Our room was situated in the south wing and was extremely quiet, very welcome after many hours in the Disney parks.
We went to the pool thinking it may be only a quick dip to satisfy the children but in fact I was surprised to find that we had been in the water for over 1 hour. This would not have been possible if the water had been as cold as some people have claimed.
I can acknowledge that it may have been a bit chaotic for the late risers at breakfast time; it did appear to be the case as we were leaving the restaurant but at the time we entered each day we had no problem collecting the required food from the buffet style areas.
The only reason I have been unable to give the hotel the full 10 points is due to the high cost of the drinks. I appreciate that this is something that is common across all Disneyland Paris hotels but that does not make it acceptable or reasonable to be expected to pay such inflated amounts.
