Good Points

Everything went smoothly, flights left on time, staff were very polite and helpful, airplane cabin was clean and tidy.


Bad Points

A rather minor issue, on the return trip at Baneasa airport there were only two checkin points open (in Larnaca it was four) and there was some lack of discipline in the queues with three lines of people leading to each check point instead of one.

The overall wait (at two hours and ten minutes before the flight and roughly the same number of passengers) was 30 minutes. In Larnaca it was 5 minutes.

Also there was no indication as to which checkin point to go to, they were marked Blue Air but no destination was given. With three Blue Air flights leaving at about the same time I had to ask around to find out out the right check ins.

For these I deducted 1 point and gave them 9/10.

Later I sat at a cafe nearby and watched the queues. By 80 minutes before flight there was hardly anyone queuing.


General Comments

I flew with Blue Air in May 2009 from Larnaca to Bucharest and back and I am overall very pleased with this airline. The price of the ticket was very good at 111 Euro including the visa payment fee of 2 euro. Checking in luggage would have cost another 7 Euro each way but I didn't have any.

Each passanger is allowed to take 7 Kg of hand luggage to the cabin free of charge. On the return I had 10 Kg but they just let me take it without even mentioning anything. They also assigned me a seat by the window but away from the wings as I requested.

Passengers freely moved to places where all three seats in a line happened to be free so they could lie down on them and sleep.
