Good Points

Paid for surgery - ' 12,600!!


Bad Points

Long claim process. Didn't pay for hotel cancellation while I was in hospital. Didn't pay for unused ski lessons, despite paying extra for cover.


General Comments

I had an accident while skiing in Austria, which resulted in the need for emergency surgery. Insure and Go have an exclusion in their policy which states that they will only pay for surgery that their doctor deems essential, which left me very worried as my injury was serious and I was unable to stand up, never mind walk! I went ahead with the surgery and hoped they'd pay. After 7 weeks, they have agreed to pay the cost of my treatment and also the medically related travel expenses. I wouldn't use them again, I claimed £900 in legitimate expenses and they paid £300. There is a long list of expenses they have decided not to pay, but overall they have been OK.
