General Comments
I'm a big fan. It's faster, less crash prone and less cluttered than Firefox. Firefox also failed to allow me to access my office network from home, iexplorer was very slow, but Google Chrome is fast and thus far problem free.
Web based mail, video streaming and downloading is faster.
One minor problem with downloading is that the program tries to be too clever, always trying to stick files in a 'downloads folder' whereas iexplorer remembers where you put the first file and puts the second there as well. A minor point, but a little frustrating when downloading endless data and journal articles.
If you like fancy toolbars and aps, go for firefox. Chrome is pure simplicity.
