General Comments

The Island Escape ship is certainly not disabled freindly. Special Assistance certainly does not apply. We found it extreamly difficult trying to juggle cases and a wheelchair. No one wanted to help and would rather walk in the opposite direction than help you.

The Coaches were extreamly difficult as well, although they will sell you a tour as suitable for disabled. You had to fight to get a first row seat as other more able passengers would rather sit there and let you struggle than give the seat up.

The same goes with the lifts on the ship. Able bodied people would scramble to get into the lift to go up one floor than let a wheelchair go first. We waited on several occassions for over 20 mins to get into a lift to go one floor to the restaurant.

When in the restaurant no one offered any help they just seated you as far away from the entrance as they could so that when you left you had to disturb all the other dinners who made it clear that they were not amused. I had to go and get my fathers meal and if i left anything on the table it went as soon as i moved. Not a pleasent experience.

We felt that we were a nusience and that we really should not have been there. We were only able to get into one of the shops on board.
