Can control call diversion from anywhere over the internet, So when leaving home divert to mobile phone. When arrived at destination (say, parents' house, work desk, etc) can change divert to land line. This usually can use inclusive free minutes.
Bad Points
Calls to mobile phones charged at similar rate to cable line, But British Telecoms offer add-on feature that reduce cost of calling mobiles. If calling mobiles a lot, BT may be more economical.
General Comments
Vonage is particularly useful if moving house often (like students and junior doctors in the national health service). No need to change phone number, plus no worry about minimal contract on land line, using internet provided in staff accommodation.
