Good Points

Great on gas, Fun to ride, comfortable for short or tall rider. Easy to perform maintenance on. For a true rider this bike offers plenty of push when taking off. Continuous, steady acceleration in gears 2 thru 6.

Bad Points

Max speed is in the mid 140's, the weight of the bike can cause back wheel to lock very easily, A little sluggish in first gear up to about 6rpms, Kinda jerky when at low rpms(not unbearable just annoying).

General Comments

The Yamaha YZF-600R Thundercat 600 is my first ever bike that I have owned. Unfortunately I learned to ride on a much larger bike (Hayabusa). For a 600 this bike is very good and reliable. Can keep up with other bikes pretty easily until you get to about 140mph. I have definitely enjoyed owning it and will probably never sell it even when I get a bigger bike next year. This is a great starter bike for anyone who is thinking about buying a bike. The difference in the insurance price between the thundercat and the R6 was what really sold me on it.
