General Comments

Bought a derbi gpr125 on a 56 plate... wiring was terrible, nothing worked and ended up selling the bike without even riding it...thought it was a one off so....
got a derbi gpr 125 on an 06 plate that had been highly maintained simply because i loved the way it looked.
very nippy bike but thats about all its good for.
compared to the honda nsr 125 or the cbr 125 or the rs it feels unsafe to drive.
im always living in fear its high reving 2 stroke engine is going to seize up on me seen as ever other thing on the bike is cheaply made!
the gear shift lever PLASTIC... broke 2 of them and believe me, when your in the middle of no where and your left in 4th gear and no way of changing, its a nightmare.
the front brake seized up on me (see someone elses review on here that did same thing) and i ended up down the road on my side followed by the bike.
it drinks 2 stroke oil like no other iv ever seen
its not that good compared with other bikes when it comes to fuel consumption
the wiring WILL fail on you at some point and youll need a new loom if not ALL the electrical components aswell
switches are cheap and will break

the only good point to this bike is the way it looks from afar!

DO NOT BUY ONE!!

get a honda nsr 125

will last forever i promise!

oh and 1 last thing... the last (6th) gear is useless...
too short of a ratio to make a differnce from 5th and somewhat hinders power!

people believe the only restrictor on this bike is "the fuse" but there is also a restrictor in the exaust and also one on the factory air box in the form of a rubber bung taking up most of the air inlet... simple to remove

if you live in london like me you will enjoy the nippyness of this bike round the congested streets but for anything else id give this bike a miss

from a 2 times owner of a derbi gpr 125!
