General Comments

I went to 'And so to bed' on the kings road because i specifically wanted a bed called the versaille. I also ordered the vi-spring matress and base fron there which i could have bought from anywhere. I placed my order and even had the builders build a wall to accomodate the height of the headboard. When the bed was delivered the delivery men looked like they had been mechanics for the day. Their cloths and shoes where dirty and their trainers where son dirty that the white was barely visable. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and it was a cold winters night. We weren't living at the house at the time as it was being renovated. They where over 2 hours late as i waited outside with the children in the car. I was son thrilled that they'd eventually arrived with my beautiful bed that i didn't worry about them being so late. They came through the door and before they went upstairs i polietly explained that i had new carpets and could they protect them. I had already laid down some sheets. They laughed and told me that their socks where dirtier. After virtually kicking the bed into place and disregarding the sheets i was left with not only filthy carpets but stains all around the base. Once they left i phoned the office and told them my experience. The next day they called me and told me they'd look into it. I didn't hear from them in months. They would not return my phone calls . I even asked then to juste sen me a valance and i'd cover it. First they said o/k. Then again months would pass. It took them finally 1 year to change the base. Once the base was delivered i told the delivery guys my experience and they told me that this was common practice at And So To Bed. It wasn't a problem for this big company to change the base but they liked to make things difficult for customers. I was pregnant at the time with 2 young children. I had had a c-section birth and my baby was nearly one when they changed the base. Needless to say i cancelled the bedsted as it hadn't been delivered on the same day and I still use a plain bed with no headboard that i could have bought from anywhere. Never received a simply apology.
