- Value for money

I joined Sky , then 5 months later i moved house. You would think it would be a simple task to move TV, broadband and phone to a new address which is literally around the corner.
I gave Sky 2 weeks notice that i would be moving, and i thought that was plenty of time for them to do their thing.
I moved house on Sat 25 Oct and i was told by Sky that the Tv Broadband and phone would be on and ready by Mon 27 Oct. I thought that was not too bad and didnt mind doing without for a couple of days.
Mon 27 Oct came and i didnt have any of the services, so i called them. After using a mobile to call them i was kept on hold for over 2 hours . This happened a few times and i spent over £40.00 to top up my phone to call them.
When i did finally manage to talk to anyone they did not know what they were doing and i tried to tell them in the simplest terms that i would like all the services put on please, as was promised for the 27 Oct.
After 5 weeks of calling them, writing to them, emailing them, the phone was finally put on, but nothing else. After nearly 3 months the broadband was finally put on, but by this time i had had enough and asked them to release me from the contract, but they said i would have to pay a release fee. I told them no way. I wrote to them and emailed them to complain about the disgusting way they treat their customers, after all all i wanted to have all the services moved from one house to another.
I finally got rid of them and moved to Virgin without any problems and i got all 3 services in one day.
I would NEVER reccommend Sky to anyone. They are ignorant and incompetent.
This is only a very short version of what happened. It is now nearly the end of May 09 and i am still getting threatening letters from debt collectors ect for something i dont owe as Sky finally agreed to release me from the contract without any penalties, and i have this in writing and a statement showing 0.00 owing.
