Good Points

Good for your ego.. most people will never rate you lower than a 4.5 out of 5 stars...ever. People are generally friendly.


Bad Points

The reviews are generally useless fluff and if you dare write a bad review, people get their panties in a bunch. Oh, did i mention you have to PAY to join this site. Stick with some good groups in Flickr if you want truly helpful reviews FAR is not going to help make you a better photographer in the long run.


General Comments

Fanartreview is more of a social gathering of people that happen to take photos than a true and through photography/art site.
Reviews are pretty much useless as people write them for the most part to gain points which they can use to promote their images to the top ranks.
The ranking system on the site skews the whole site towards mass reviews/submissions of photos in order to get to the top. The "rankings" are not reflective of quality, they are only reflective of how much time you spend on the site.
PS I'm only speaking about the photographers on the site since I don't know about the other "art" forms being represented on the site.

    I found this review very helpful because...having just joined the site I had my suspicions that what this reviewer is true.
    The fact that you can buy points to promote your postings, therefore receiving more reviews, Doesn`t seem fair.
    The member who can afford to buy most points, can raise his/her position in the ratings. I would have thought it went on merit only, You can make members dollars by doing stacks of reviews, but I find I am only reviewing the postings I like, and ignoring the others.
