Good Points

The Kapetanois Bay Hotel was really nice and the staff were extremely helpful especially the lady on reception who helped contact Thomson numerous times to see were our coach back to Larnaca airport was.


Bad Points

Thomson and First Choice merging has meant that Thomson dont seem to provide the same level of service as they used too.


General Comments

I have been travelling with Thomson (Lunn Poly) for quite a few years and have never had any problems until this year. It seems that Thomson and First Choice (who I would never choose to use) have merged together, unfortunately I dont think this is in Thomsons favour. Myself and my partner flew from Bristol to Larnaca this May for a weeks in Protaras at the Kapetanois Bay Hotel, my partner hadnt flown in more then 10 yrs so I was explaining how nice Thomson planes were and that you get an individual screen on the back of each head rest to pick films, tv shows, music etc from and that the crew & the reps are always friendly. Too my extreme disappointment we flew on a First Choice plane, which did NOT have the individual screens and were very cramped & uncomfortable & the crew were not very friendly! There was no rep on our coach to our Hotel which I thought was bad. We spoke to our rep Sam at the Hotel who explained the 2 companys had merged & that he thought we should be on a Thomson plane going back, BUT we were NOT! We had booked transfers to & from the airport BUT we were NOT picked up for our return to Larnaca as the driver had not given the rep the full list of hotels and we were waiting for more then 2 hrs, instead the Thomson rep called our Hotel asking if we would mind paying for a cab to the airport! Which off course I said YES we did mind and that they would have to pay as it was their mistake, our rep paid the driver on arriving at Larnaca and was very apologetic, but the whole experience has left a bad taste and now I am trying to find another Travel agent to use!
