Taking a policy with Direct Line...stay away


General Comments

I took out a car policy with Direct Line Car Insurance cos my partner had hers with them. docs came with partners wrong age on them. was told to pay a further 196 £ or canx. direct line said that i had input the wrong age. I put in twice the correct date of birth twice cos they wanted to check her policy with them to qualify for the dual policy discount. Direct line lied and said that there is no option of dob and that i have to put in the age in figures. Tried twice on line quote again and it ask for dod Liars.....so paid the money in protest saying i will not be renewing with them and nor will my partner next year. This week i have changed my car from a 2 ltr Peugeot GTI on a 51 plate to a 1.6 diesel focus on a 55 plate and my policy is only 8 pound cheaper with 11 months still left to run.

Direct line said that they do their own vehicle groups and that my old car was a group 63 and my new on is a 23....i thought group 20 was max....how can you only have an 8 £ reduction on a car that is 43 groups lower than the new one you are purchasing.....bordering on stupid !!
