Good Points

There are plenty of branches, and the internet service is very useful.


Bad Points

Far more frequent errors than in the past, which are difficult to get sorted out. Customer service now seems to be very much about how right they are and how wrong you are, even when they are not.


General Comments

I have had a Bank of Scotland account for more than ten years, and it was always OK. Nothing great, but no problems, which kept the hassle factor at a minimum. Since being taken over by Halifax, the service and the competence seems to have gone out of the window. The account is no better than many of the competitors, and from that point of view there are many better accounts to go for.
