Internal parts are plastic. Oil pump gear is plastic and the pump drive gear is also made from a low grade plastic..
General Comments
The Sears Craftsman Incredipull 55cc Chainsaw has a strong motor, easy start everytime. It has run for 12 hours over three years. The pump for the self-oiler went. The part is no longer available and there are no substitutions. Sears told me "sorry, we can't help you". This $300.00 saw has cost me $25 an hour to use, not including fuel. I could have rented one for less. I found an ECHO chainsaw at a cheaper price and it comes with a 5 year warranty. It's motor is smaller than the Craftsman chainsaw, with amazing performance. Thank you Sears, you really know how to treat a 30 plus year customer.
