General Comments

I would not recommend M&S pet insurance to anybody. I did not realise that their cover is ANNUAL PREMIUM. Unlike other companies which are monthly premiums.
My dear dog recently died and when the payment came back from M&S to cover the vet's bills they deducted the remaining year's monthly premium from the amount, which amounted to over £330 (6 months remaining at around £55 per month). I hadn't realised that they did this and it was only when I went through the policy booklet with a fine toothcomb I found a short paragraph stating that their insurance was annual. So by the time they had also deducted the £90 excess and then the 20% excess I was paid just over £120 - and had to borrow the remaining £600+ from a relative. What a smack in the face it was - it's dreadful enough loosing a loved pet, but to then find out it wasn't worth insuring the dog was even worse.
I spoke to my vet about it and they had never heard of such a premium, and now I am looking to change my other dog's cover, having spoken to other insurance companies, they have never heard of it either. I thought good old M&S would be a good company to use, how wrong was I?
