Good Points

immediate decision to give me a card with instant £250 credit limit and offered me cash advance, which i declined


Bad Points

diabolical customer service skills, staff aren't even aware that they are breaching the data protection act. no facility for paying online. overall, dont bother.


General Comments

i joined vanquis in december 2008. i have had nothing but grief from them either ringing me, emailing me and leaving messages on my work number! when i managed to get hold of them (they do not provide a call centre service after 6pm or at weekends) i asked them why their account service was so archaic, that with capitalone i can ring up and pay or chose to pay online. i then went to ask why they had left a message on my work phone number and not my landline as i was concerned about the breach of my confidentiality. i work for an organisation where confidentiality is of paramount importance. i explained if i left a message on someone's work answerphone, i could be instantly dismissed. their reply - that's not our problem, we are a financial institution those rules don't apply.

in general the customer service is terrible, staff are incredibly rude. i told them to set up a direct debit for the minimum payment each month and i will settle my account in june.
i am actually considering reporting them regarding data protection breaches.
