“Have just spent a lovely 4 night break at this Haven...”

Good Points
close to M5, Lots of places to visit nearby, very clean and tidy site, caravans not too close together, plenty of wildlife to see, easy check in/out., plenty of supermarkets nearby, no need to be bored if you join in everything they offer,

Bad Points
Bar prices, poor entertainment on 2 nights of a 4 stay holiday.

General Comments
Have just spent a lovely 4 night break at this Haven site, Burnham On Sea. We found it very clean and tidy with teams actually picking up rubbish at 8.15am, we found plenty to do during the day and a relaxing treat in the early evening was to walk around the 2 fishing pools watching the canadian geese tend their babies or watch the woodpecker peck for worms or see the baby bunnies go diving for cover when they saw us. Our caravan was luxury itself and would have bought it if I already didn`t know the pittfalls having owned one once ie the birds disco dancing on your roof at 5am or even the most slight person of 5 stone tiptoing sounding like Godzilla with pms. I can`t believe people moaning about grass getting in their caravan either, i would rather have grass in a caravan rather than mud as when you park on the grass it can be even worse. We enjoyed visiting Berrow beach as it so desolate but not not Brean as it was too kiss me quick but our best day was visiting Wells especially if you go via the back roads , we saw an inn and school called the Sexies and several houses had tables outside where you buy their produce and just put money in the basket how trusting is that. Wells was fabulous, we went on a Wednesday which luckily for us was Farmers Market Day and the venison burgers didn`t dissapoint, the cathedral is amazing as is the castle with moat so go take a look. We didn`t eat on the site but found there were ample supermarkets around ie tesco, asda and lidl, the Sommerfield will be opened as a Morrisson this year. We walked around the tourers site and found the plots ample, the toilet block was very clean with plenty of hairdryers to hand too, now to the minus side the entertainment and prices charged in the bars, we enjoy a glass or two so we went to the main entertainment venue and paid a hefty price for our drinks only to find the worst entertainment we`ve ever seen on a Haven site.On two of the four nights from 9.30pm til10.30 we had 4 dimwitted people put on stage who then had to go and collect items from the audience ranging from a £20 note to a shoe or pint of larger in a certain amount of time which was fine the first but second the not! We did notice that the venue was rather empty in the first place so I don`t wish to sound harsh because even though the site was full I think they were all sitting in the caravans with cheap beer from asda`s due to the credit crunch so who can blame the punters for wanting a cheap but great holiday or the staff who can no longer be bothered to put on a spectacular dance show to 40 people when it should be 2000 needless to say on our last night we too resorted to Asda for our beer and luckily we had taken the laptop and watched a dvd we had been meaning to watch for ages, meanwhile I expect they were collecting a wifes bra, size 4 flip flop, pint of larger or a tampax in the entertainment hall.
