Good Points

Living room on wheels, smooth engine and gearbox. Light interior with 4 captains seats and 3 seater bench. Twin aircon with rear evaporator and fan, keeps this midnight blue car super cool. Fiited rails make easy work of Mont Blanc rack/bars. A truly unique car/minivan/multipurpose/multiuse vehicle.

Bad Points

Bit thirsty and underpowered by modern car standards. However, this design is nearly 20 years old. Toyota PArts Horrendously expensive. 11" section of aluminium tubing to repair aircon (damaged by grounding) £80, Solenoid Valve £180.

General Comments

Our Second Toyota Previa GX, this one has twin airbags and rear air conditioning. Love it. We bought our first Previa GX back in 1996, a 94 model with 24,000 miles on the clock. Went all around Europe in it, never skipped a beat. Only sold it in 2000 because it bacame a third car, wish we had never sold it. Since we have had a BMW X5, Great to drive but unreliable, dealer bought it back at sale price, BMW M3 Comvertible, very fast but engine fell to bits at 3,000 miles, dealer took it back. Had small fleet of 5 Spanish Mercedes FWD Vitos, all rubbish nothing like the quality fo the MB Sprinter. Had a VW T5 Transporter, cost nearly £30,000.00. Dealer had to swap it for one that was worse than the first. Eventualy, last year 2008, managed to Track down a last of the original 2000 Model Toyota Previa with just 64,000 mikes on clock for £2150. Had new uprated, rear suspension fitted, fitted fixed sat nave and Limo tint windows. Runs like a dream and never skips a beat. Total Cost under £3k.
