#1 Club Gold Service--Cars ready upon arrival at Hertz Lot with no waiting in lines


Bad Points

Automated telephone system low-quality and frequently non-functional;
EXTREMELY LONG waits to speak with a live person to change reservation ;
Poorly-trained representatives at Hertz Reservation center unwilling and unable to deal with problems--when I asked to speak with a supervisor, the call was transferred to the automated "Emergency Road Service" menu...


General Comments

Hertz Car Rental Customer Service is declining in proportion to its profits in the current economy. Perhaps this is to be expected, but it is unfortunate. I rent approximately 20 cars per year for business purposes, and I have regularly relied on Hertz. However, due to a number of recent bad experiences, I am starting to look further afield for the rentals. I hope that Hertz Management reads this and takes action so Hertz doesn't become another poor, generic rent-a-car company like so many others.
