For all those who are planing to buy the Crosman Quest 1000 or any other Crosman made in China, do not forget to clean and remove the original lubrication on the rifle and replace it with a silicon based lube. This way you will eliminate the explosion heard on the firsts shots that resemble a .22 rim fire gun shot and save the cilinder seal.
This explosion is caused by a "Diesel effect" inside the cilinder when the air is compressed mixed with the original lubrication grease/oil (with a petroleum base).
Not changing the original lube will give you around 500 shots or less before begining to loose power. Doing so will give you a long lasting rifle to enjoy.
