General Comments
In the past my family and I have enjoyed the excellent
service provided by Chef Brewer. However, on Saturday 25 April 09
we had lunch along with a party of other guests at Cross Roads
Weedon. There were fewer guests than originlly booked for but we still had to wait over an hour for the food. The restaurant was not busy. The hour wait is hard on young children and parents trying to entertain the little ones so as not to disturb other diners. The food when it did arrive was lukewarm and it became a competition around the tables to spot the meat in the Bombardier Meat Pie. 4-5 small pieces was the max. Those who had the the Fruit Crumble were disappointed by
the depth of crumble only to find plum jam underneath. 2 lunches had to be reordered as they had been forgotten by the person taken the order. Cutlery had to be requested for the various dishes ie only a knife and fork supplied when soup was ordered.
The lunch was organised for families of the bride and groom to
meet the day after the wedding but was greatly marred by our
experience at Cross Roads Restaurant.
