Engineers both polite and as helpful as could be under circumstances


Bad Points

Call centre operators continued response to repeated complaints 'It is our policy ......'
Policies should achieve objectives. Clearly customer satisfaction is not one of Comet's


General Comments

Bought Hotpoint washing machine February 2008 from Comet. Purchased 5 year warranty . Feature of machine was that it displayed a code for any fault if it broke down.
Faulty in April 2009. Code indicated new masterboard required. Advised Comet Customer service who sent engineer a few days later. No masterboard. machine had intermittent fault.
Two weeks later, broke down completely. Code indicated new masterboard needed. Called customer service again. Engineer arrived, minus masterboard.
Policy is to visit, then order part. Why, when machine knew what part was needed and this confirmed at a previous visit?
Engineer sadly was admitted to hospital before placed order for masterboard. No one from Comet checked on his visits to follow up. Just waited for the customer to call them to chase up why no response to their callout...... Still waiting on repair. Have been two weeks without machine so far. Customer Service - they don't know what it means!
