Good Points

Customer service people are friendly and professional, up to the point of calling back when promised, at which point unfortunately even this one good point breaks down.


Bad Points

They seem very disorganised, and have cost me quite a bit of money and hassle for nothing. I would definitely never deal with them again and would not recommend them to anyone.


General Comments

I got a half-decent quote (I'm 27, with 5 years NCB; the quote was for a 10-year old Honda Civic 1.4). I decided to take it, but due to a small overlap with my previous insurance policy Quinn did not accept my NCB. They said that they might make an exception and accept it, and that they would phone back to let me know whether that was possible (promising that I could cancel from the day of my initial call if it wasn't); I got no call.

I called back after they increased my premium and was told I could cancel, backdated to when I had initially asked to cancel. I said I'd like to cancel, having already insured with another insurer. I was told I'd get a call back.

No call back materialised, so I called again and again asked to cancel. They said they couldn't send me proof of my NCB because they had never accepted it, and could not send me my original proof back (for no particular reason). I requested another copy of the proof from my previous insurer, who was very helpful.

Unfortunately my new insurer (ECar) contacted Quinn today and Quinn told them I still had an active policy. I phoned Quinn and they told me there was no record of my cancellation, and the payments were still coming from my bank account to cover the insurance.

I've asked them to cancel again. Hopefully it works this time, but I'm not holding out much hope.
