Nokia 5800 Xpress Music is Nokia's first touchscreen phone and not as bad as rumored around. Let's go in-depth analysis of the phone.

1. This is the best designed phone adhering to the nickname - XpressMusic. Nothing overdone; the phone is provided with an optimal sized 3.2" screen with a true 16:9 aspect ratio. The phone display is 640x360 pixels which makes a proper HD feel on phone.

The phones width allows you a firm grip around the phone with your thumb easily reaching the diagonally the farthest distance on the touchable screen, which means you can do any task on the phone using single hand.

The bevelled rim around the screen prevents your screen to be the first victim of accidental damage to the face of your phone.

The battery is quite good for the category of the phone providing more than 7hrs talktime in realtime.

S60's new child, V5 is enabled with touchscreen features. If you like Nokia S60 earlier versions you'd love this too. It is a complete touchUI with a greatly reduced lag in response of touch. User friendly menu based interface feels like you are back home. The best part of menu interface is that you get to know at the intance that what all option for the particular item you have. After a few minutes of use its bcomes a very easy to use phone.

Double taps - I know a few you may think that this feature should go with bad points but belive me its a boon. No annoying single tap - open to all features. S60 is smart enough to know that you need to just select a few things of the list first before opening. That is why it smartly added the double tap -open feature to a few items. Using the phone for a few minutes one can easily state which menu item will use double tap and users are not disappointed and works as it should.

Home screen has an added feature of Contacts Bar, a socializing feature of you frequently used contacts. Not much about it but a nice addition.

Music phone is not just a music phone. It can do all functions that your smartphone does for you. Yes that brings this phone to this category. Calender, appointments, reminders all works as they should on the XpressMusic. Do you think of these while purchasing a music phone.

Mailbox, MS Mail for Exchange, Nokia Messaging etc. means Email. All you need is to use it, yes they are a built in feature.

S60 means loads of apps available for anything you want to do. Go ahead grab your apps.

Web browser is good and with Flash Lite 3.0 it ricks on streaming sites like YouTube. iPlayer allows you to watch BBC videos and Amazon video player is also available for download. What more for a browser than good rendering of Web Pages. Its fast and zippy with 3G, HSDPA, WiFi, and the web browser is also cool with seamless transition between portrait and lanscape mode. more to come...
