Good Points

Silences very well
Improves centre of gravity (in my opinion)
Definately solid

Bad Points

Not matched well to barrel

General Comments

This Falcon Prairie Standard silencer is effective in reducing the noise that the Prairie produces. My Bullbarrel Lighthunter without the silencer makes a VERY loud crack, something akin to hitting your ceramic toilet fitting with a sledge hammer in your bathroom with the door shut. With the silencer fitted the noise is reduced to not much over the noise of the hammer fall. In fact the noise of the impact easily tops the noise the gun itself makes. Drop a cushion on a carpeted floor from waist height and its about as loud as that (and muffled sounding). However, although its not a heavy silencer It is still a lot of metal sitting right on the end of the barrel, and it becomes noticably harder to swing the rifle around. The balance I find actualy better with it on however, as it brings the centre of gravity just in front of the trigger guard exactly where your support hand will rest when shooting from standing and you bunch up to get maximum support and stability. My final grievance is that the end of the barrel is very flat, yet on the silencer, just past the thread where the silencer stops against the barrel is very noticably tapered (sloped) and so you end up with a gap and makes it ook like looks the silencer came from a different model rifle... Its purely asthetic but if you like I did chose the walnut stock for added asthetic value it is dissapointing considering it is a silencer made specificaly for this rifle...
