General Comments

Beware! I booked into Travel Lodge Kingston-upon-Thames, Central one week and the hotel was new, clean and very quiet, despite being in the centre of Kingston. Great! I went ahead and booked the same hotel for the following week. Arriving at the hotel, the receptionist informed me that they had no booking but that maybe I was booked at their other hotel across the road. Another hotel? Yes, Kingston-Upon-Thames. Just that. Having never stayed in Kingston-Upon-Thams before, I didn't realise that there were two hotels, on opposite sides of the street. I asked if I could just stay at the central hotel, to which the girl replied no. I then trooped across to the other, you've guessed it, much older hotel to be told by reservations (when I rang them to see if it was possible to switch, after all, they are the same hotel - chain. They informed me it was impossible. So, I had to stay put. The receptionist promised to put me in a quiet room, once I'd booked in, told me that the elevator was out of order and I had to troop up 2 flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase to my room....it was a bit shabby, but clean. An hour after checking in, I was startled by an extremely loud noise of a sanding machine (which meant I couldn't hear the tv)....this lasted an hour or so and then upon going to bed, the mattress was so soft, I had a painful night's sleep....until early morning when the same sanding machinist decided to get on with his work at 7:05 a.m.

Where is the Customer Service email/complaint form on the Travel Lodge site? It is NOT evident to me and I've searched now several times. I guess I'll have to ring them.

I'm booked into another travel lodge next week...I'm debating whether or not to ever go back.

Moral of this story, beware. There are two travel lodges in Kingston-Upon-Thames, stay in the Cental one.
