General Comments

Very dissapointed with Post Office Car Insurance - I feel very let down

I was forced to guess a date when I bought my car - a month into my policy I had a letter to say the date I bought the car was incorrect and the fee for updating this was £20 plus £34 as the underwriters had reviewed the change and decided to up the premium. The car is 10 years old and I have had it for 2 years. I don't see why the lenght of time you own a car alters your premium!!!

If you wish to cancel your policy one month after you start it - you will lose two thirds of your premium

hi, ive worked in the insurance industry for years, and firstly the customer has a responsibility to confirm the correct date the car was bought, the reason for this is the underwriter requests this information is given at the start of the quote. the sales advisor should never lead you into a decision, and if this is the case, contact p/o and request the call to be listened to from the point of sale, if its the case you have been lead into a decision, then p/o should then refund you the extra funds they have taken from you. as under fsa guidelines, a advisor under no circs can lead a customer ( for this exact reason) but in future when you buy insurance, just quickly check your v5 form for your car, itll tell you there.
