General Comments
Last year I was persuaded by a British Gas salesman that I could save money by switching my electricity supply to British Gas, who already supplied my gas. Suddenly, my montly gas payments increased from £20 to £79, despite the fact my usage had decreased, meaning I overpaid by nearly £500 by my last bill- was that just a way of them making interest on my money rather than me? Then there was the electricity. My bill tripled; I discovered that had not applied the night rate to my bill, and despite 6 calls to try to sort this out, with 3 people promising faithfully to call me back [none of them did] and hours waiting on hold, I couldn't get this sorted. The final straw was a rude 'customer service advisor' who refused to put me through to a manager to try to finally get some resolution. I've switched.
