Excellent value for money.
Plenty for all ages.
Good clean park
Bad Points
Not enough time! The day is packed with wall to wall offers of things to do but chessington could keep this park open much later from around may onwards to maximise the opportunity to see everything.
Not for the true thrill seekers-not a bad point for us personally because we wanted the family experience but anyone looking for a huge thriller experience would be dissapointed and if that is you head to Thorpe park instead.
General Comments
Went to chessington yesterday and it was fantastic, there is a great variety of rides for all ages and for the price it was great value.
It is ulimately a family park,it is not a park for the real hardcore thrill seekers who would better at Thorpe park but it is a very family orientated experience.
The Rameses revenge and Rattle snake are the 'big ones',enough to scare you but only if you are fairly apprehensive about the height and speed anyway and Dragon's fury offfers a thrilling experience itself and only has a 1.2 mtr height restriction which pleases the younger riders.
Vampire ride is also a great experience for the 1.2 mtrs and up but an adult must ride with a child under 1.3 mtrs.
Younger children are provided with a variety of rides including the fast moving Runaway train, must be at least 0.9 mtrs and under 1.1 will require an adult.
I was slightly concerned that my 2 year old who is only 85cms tall would be a little left out but i was pleasently surprised at the amount of rides that we were allowed to take her on,carousel, sea dragons, tiny truckers, flying jumbos and toadies crazy cars were a great experience for her and that is without the bubbleworks-fun for all of us too!
There is more fun for tots in Dragon's playhouse, dragons tale theatre and canopy capers and of course any height can go into hocus pocus hall which sadly we had no time left for.
You can also take children of any height with you on peeking heights and safari skywalk.
Dragon falls is a great climb and dive water ride which is fun for everyone and 0.9 mtrs can ride with an adult, once you hit the 1.1 mtr mark you can ride alone.
We didn't ride The black buccaneer because our 4 year old was a little scared, you can take a child from 0.9 mtrs on with an adult but it may be a bit scary for the younger ones, above 1,1 mtrs can ride alone.
We didn't ride Bash street bus purely because the park was very quiet and it requires 6 people on it to ride, there wasn't enough people but on a busier day it looks like fun,0.9 mtrs and up with an adult but 1.1 and over can ride alone.
Dennis's madhouse was passed because there were other things we wanted to do-we had deliberately taken our children on a school day which i advise as it was so quiet and we never queued for any longer than to wait for a ride to finish,ok its a bit naughty but really gives you maximum benefit of the park because 7 hours simply isn't enough!
Billy's whizzer is great fun for 1.2 mtrs and higher, very fast swings that fly high and water is squirted at you from underneath, the ride operated asked permission to get our children wet but at busier times that choice may not be there and since this and other rides involve water i highly reccomend taking a change of clothes.
Dodger's dodgems is fine for 0.9 and over with an adult and over 1.3 can go alone although one of my children was slightly under and they let her on with her older sisters who were both over 1.4.
We didn't go on tomb blaster so i can't comment on that aside from saying that under 1.1 must go with an adult.
We didn't ride seastorms but again 0.9 mtrs can go with an adult,1.1 and over may ride alone.
Griffins Galleon was on our to do list but we had no time in the end because our children were finding rides they loved and with no queues they were staying on them!
As 5pm neared Rameses revenge had only 4 people on it,two of them were my eldest children and the operator allowed them to remain on the ride,i watched on asmy husband took the younger ones to find a ride but many were shutting down already which was theonly slight nuisance as you are supposed to be able to join all rides until 5pm but i think it was due to it being so quiet.
In the end he took our 4 year old on berry bouncers, under 1,1 metres must have an adult and you need to be 0.9 to ride on it at all but it isn't that high or fast moving.
We chose to eat in burger king which wasn't too overpriced at all and i fed 7 of us for £33 which is good considering we had meals and only 3 of those were kids meals, there are other cafes including the fizz and burp, pizza and pasta and greedy goblin family inn which is a pub food enviromdent, plenty of hotdog and snack kiosks and vending machines too but we also took our own picnic food to cut costs for the whole day.
Included in the price is the zoo and sealife centre,we had no time for these but thought it was excellent value for the money and you can find tokens allowing pay for one, enter one free very easily, got mine from persil packs and burker king often hand them out.
Overall a wonderful experience for all of us!
