General Comments

Ikea customer service is truly appalling. My (first and last) experience was:

1. Initially my Debit card did not work and I was informed I would have to ask my bank what the problem is implying it is they're fault. Also told I could not reserve the items I have picked up for a day and would either need to purchase them or pick them up again (I had over £400 of goods on my trolled). Very, very annoying having spent 3 hours looking through your shop that I cannot complete the order.
2. I then withdraw £300 from the bank machine (not quite enough to cover the order, but would cover some of the products) of which I manage to leave £50 in my haste. This money is presumably in someone elses pocket now and I have no chance of it's return.
3. I contact my bank and then apparently the order goes through the till as expected. No explanation of what the initial problem was provided by rude and unhelpful staff.
4. I have now assembled my PAX wardrobe, worth over £275 to Ikea to find I have been given an extra set of shelves and been charged over £10 for the privelege. On speaking to the rude and unhelpful staff I am informed that you will charge me £35 to pick an item worth £10 another member of their rude and unhelpful staff 'accidentally' added to my order.

Given point 4 I do not understand why:

* The extra shelf was 'accidentally' added by your staff, therefore it is their mistake. Why should I be penalised and have to go out of my way to return it to the store?
* Charging £35 for a part that was mistakenly added item of value only £10 to my order is a total joke. What sort of customer service are they providing here?
* Given the itemising on the PAX wardrobes is far from clear, how am I meant to be able to look over this and double check that an item is missing? It is not as if it is itemised: 1 wardrobe, 1 drawers, 1 shelf.

The only explanation from staff is that 'You should have checked the itemised bill' (make sure and do this everyone, or you'll be sorry particularly if you buy a custom made item), Very, very, very poor from a company I have had no experience of but have heard many good things from other people. I will not be back, except to return my shelf. I guess you get what you pay for.
