Good Points

The staff on the ship were first class, very polite, very helpful, they work very very hard. No matter what time of the day or night there was always someone cleaning the stairs, banisters, mirror walls, carpets etc etc. I think they must have a 24 hour cleaning team, and it was first class.
Some previous reviews gave poor comments on the food, but i am a fussy eater and had no problem finding soemthing to eat. variety to suit all tastes all of a high standard. We used all three restaurants from the Beachcomber to the Oasis, and had great food in them all.

Bad Points

They only failure is around the 'pool' which is rather small, it was like being on the beach, everyone bagged a sun bed by putting their towels on, some as early as 6.30 am!!! so sad!! the policy on ship is to remove these, but this never happened, so there were several times where you could not get a sun bed, but then there is so much to do on the ship it didnt really bother me, if i wanted to sunbathe all day everyday then i would have gone on a beach holiday.

General Comments

As a first time cruiser found it a great experience and would recommend it to all. In the past some reviews were rather sad for the Island Escape ship, i went away for a two week cruise around the Med in April this year (2009) and i loved every minute of it. There were one or two tiny issues, but nothing that spoilt the holiday. The onboard entertainment was first class, NOTHING like Butlins as was said in a previous review which was dated 2006. The acts were stunning, the costumes amazing, and the qulaity of the singers & dancers was equal to a London show!! A great variety to suit all tastes, opera to modern, jazz to rock n roll, comedians and musicians. It had it all. The thing i loved was visiting all the different ports, started in Palma,Majorca, and visited Nice,Civitavecchia,Naples.Dubrovnik,Dalmatian coast,Venice,Koper,Split,Messina, and back to Palma. A truly enjoyable cruise.
