Amongst the friendliest cabin crews.
Modern Airbus aircraft.
Puctuality.
Unlike Ryanair, their main competitor, they fly me to main airports where I want to go, assign my seat,have a frequent flyer programme, the list goes on.
Bad Points
Service-wise on short-haul, they are no 1st class airline any longer, but are there any left in Europe?
General Comments
I fly Aer Lingus very frequently and have done so for many years. I find their product to be 100% consistent.
Flight attendants are always professional, and to be honest, amongst the friendliest I have come across on any airline.
Pilots always keep passengers updated on flight status.
I see many people complaining about punctuality. Out of the approximate 30 flights I've taken with Aer Lingus over the past 18 months, only one was delayed. Delay was 2 hours, I was informed at check-in in Dublin. Was given a voucher for free food or drink either in the airport or to be used on the flight. All my other flights have had no delay (well I do not consider a 10 or 15 minute delay to be a delay today).
When compared to Ryanair... there is no question, fly Aer Lingus.
Aer Lingus is admittedly stuck between a low cost style carrier on it's European network and a legacy carrier, mainly due to the fact that it has huge competition with Ryanair at its main hub, Dublin.
