I don't know what is going on with United Airlines these days but I've never seen such rude service. One incident was something I observed at Portland (OR) airport, in which a woman missed a flight and was treated with arrogance and rudeness by the agents. The second was an agent at Dulles in Washington, DC. I was traveling United to Munich and had 2 suitcases and a carry-on, but carts are not provided at the curb, nor were there any skycaps. Leaving some luggage on the curb while taking the rest in is not an option as the guard wouldn't let me leave bags "unattended" (they were in my sight). I asked the United agent--who was doing nothing at the time--for suggestions. "That's your problem and not my responsibility," was her response. Unbelievable. On board the service was cursory, the attendants barely civil... I won't fly United if I can help it.
