General Comments

Seven of us visited the Halfway House, Southend-on-Sea today at 1.45, we appreciate the fact it was bank holiday and therefore was busy, but to wait 40 minutes for 4 prawn cocktails and two garlic breads was not on, when the starters arrived we all enjoyed them. Two of us went for the Carvery, big mistake, the turkey had run out so we had beef and gammon, the beef was running low and the slices were so thin you could see the plate, there were hardly any vegetables and no potatoes, the chef had to go out into the kitchen to get more, we gave up waiting as the barely warm food we did have on our plate was going even colder! We heard several people complaining. The other dishes were okay but nothing special, we will not be visiting again
