I didn't get my Sony DVP-NS400D DVD player from Amazon. I got mine with a hardware multi-region addition - but, that aside...The player itself is marvellous, the menus are very simple, the sound options are superb the block reduction thing is probably only really noticeable by somebody who reviews these things for a living though. CD playback is good, again - probably only a few people will notice that it's not, alledgedly, as good as a normal cd player. I couldn't really tell the difference. Mine's hooked up to a Toshiba 28" widescreen screen and does a wonderful job. Totally pleased with my purchase - and from other reviews of the little brother to this one - the 300 - it would appear that the professional reviewers like it too. There are loads of settings to play with, as I say, the menus are very easy to go through. The remote can control the basics of the telly too - pretty much a very nice, slim DVD player, with enough features to last it into the future (out of the box Dolby 5.1 is pretty neat). AND it's got SONY on the front of it....... :-)
