Good Points

Great customer service. Fast response to questions. Can be trusted with your money.


Bad Points

slightly complicated process for listing items, but I'm not sure it could be made any easier. An overhaul of the website might be a good idea, but that's only a minor niggle.


General Comments

We were worried about using an Internet company for our gift list, since we signed up not long after a high profile bankruptcy of an Internet gift lift firm. However The Bottom Drawer sent us a long and detailed email that put our minds at ease.

The process of setting up the list was little arduous, but I doubt it could be made any easier. The ability to break down our honeymoon into small chunks was great and enabled our guests to feel like they were giving us individual gifts, not just cash.

Everyone commented on what a great idea the gift list was, and I think that having the honeymoon subdivided as we did encouraged people to donate more!

When I closed the account, they easily tallied the honeymoon that we had booked with one of their listed travel companies against their records (proving that we had spent our gift list money with their supplier, thereby ensuring that they got commission and we didn't have to pay an admin fee) and transferred the money to me very quickly. It couldn't have been smoother.

All in all, The Bottom Drawer was the perfect gift list solution for us, and I have no hesitations in recommending them.
