Good Points

Hard to think of one. I suppose in the branches the staff are unexplainably chipper.


Bad Points

Terrible customer service (esp. on phone lines, which have endless waits).
Frequent mistakes on mailings, on freezing cards.
A nightmare on overdraft protection (or lack thereof, with subsequent expensive charges)


General Comments

I live abroad, and have tried, unsuccessfully, to manage my account in the UK with Barclays. My card is frequently frozen, I spend hours at long-distance rates trying to get telephone service, and an explanation for why my card is frozen. I am then, repeatedly, told that my card has had activity outside the UK. I explain that I LIVE outside the UK. I am told that I should have told Barclays before my "trip". I ask them to look at the mailing address on my account... which is in the country where the transactions have been occurring. If this happened one, I could live with it. It happens every other month, and with wasted time and money on the phone, I am looking for a better bank.
