Good Points

It is easy to load and fire. My first pistol was replaced promptly by York Guns after it blew the breech seals.

Bad Points

I am still experiencing problems with the breech seals. Is this a common problem?

General Comments

I have enjoyed using this Baikal IZH-46M gun. It is the first air pistol I have owned so I am still having difficulty keeping it on target.

The IZH-46M probably doesn't develop enough air pressure to "blow" the seals, per se, but if you don't securely close and latch the bolt before firing it, the breech and air transfer port seals can be "blown" out of the bolt, literally. I've read several people's complaints of this, and I've done it myself, once. I don't think it's a design flaw, either; you just have to be methodical about making sure that the bolt is completely closed and latched--and 10-meter match shooting is nothing if not a methodical exercise, anyway. And as for accuracy, if you're not getting good groups, rest assured: It's not the guns fault, it's yours...you'll just have to keep practicing until you get better. As it is, I often can get better groups shooting freehand with the IZH than I can get shooting from the bench with some of my other air pistols. You need to make sure you develop the correct stance, breathing, and technique to improve your shooting. Check out B.B. Pelletier's tips on 10-meter match shooting on the Pyramyd Air Blog site for more info.
