Orange Broadband as a whole!


General Comments

Had Orange broadband for just over 18mnths and being perfectly honest it is the worst experience as a consumer i have ever had. All worked fine whilst we were on the lowest package but problems arose the minute we upgraded to an Orange livebox.I would log on,use the internet for 1-2hrs and then after that time if i was veiwing one page and wanted to look for another id get "canot display the web page",this came about because after a couple of hours use the live box would crash and disconect. We spent i dont know how much on phoning Orange technical support who did diagnostics and always came to the same conclussion-Unplug all the wires from the router,even power,put them all back and restart.That was just a tempory fix though and garunteed another couple of hours usage and the box would go again. No-one at their technical team ever knew any other sollution than that,oh no my mistake they did do a factory reset (or talked me through it) which managed to correct the box....temporarily again! Though it would work smoothly for a couple of weeks before the problem came back and i was back to "pull out all the wires ect ect ect". We had nothing but problems with this service and i would not recomend it to anybody.Orange technical team are absolutly useless and totaly expensive (yes,garunteed if you have a problem with your Orange service you WILL have to pay 50p a minute to call their useless technicians) and we are now on Talk Talk who are free to phone should we have problems but funny enough we'v not had one! For all you Orange customers who are reading this and experiencing the same stress (because it caused a great deal of it,especialy when you are talking to someone who blatantly doesnt want to help but is just going through the motions) i actualy found out a useful little nugget of information:if you are experiencing problems for longer than a month,you can legitimitly step out of the contract no mater how long it has left.Bare this in mind but to people thinking of taking up Orange:DONT,you will be the proud owner of a service inferior to even the old dial up service, you will have support from nobody and the only thing that is definate is ever increasing stress levels!
